Bertrand Wollner has been Chief Executive Officer of SIGNAL IDUNA Reinsurance Ltd (SI Re) since January 2005. He has worked in reinsurance since 1987 at Veritas Rückversicherungs AG, Winterthur Rück (now part of PartnerRe) and Zurich Re (subsequently Converium/SCOR). Prior to joining SI Re, he was a member of the Executive Management Board and Chief Underwriting Officer at Zurich Re, where he was in charge of the development of the Alternative Risk Transfer division. Bertrand Wollner has an MBA in Financial Services and Insurance (MBA-FSI) from the University of St. Gallen.

Andreas Gadmer has been Chief Risk Officer at SI Re since 2006. Prior to that, he spent 15 years at Zurich Financial Services working as an actuary in pricing and reserving. He was also Chief Actuary Property & Casualty at Zurich Kosmos in Vienna and Head of Pricing at Zurich Switzerland. Andreas Gadmer is an SAA-accredited actuary with a diploma in Mathematics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETHZ) and an Executive MBA from the University of Zurich.

Adrian Suter joined SI Re in March 2016 as Head of Finance. He previously spent almost ten years as an auditor. He also has several years of experience in supervising insurance groups and companies. Adrian Suter’s last position before joining SI Re was at the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA. Adrian Suter holds a Master’s degree as a business economist of applied sciences, is a Swiss Certified Public Accountant and has been accredited as an audit expert of the Federal Audit Oversight Authority FAOA since 2006.

Robert Salzmann joined SI Re as an actuary in 2014 and was appointed Head of Pricing and ILS Analytics in 2017. Before that, he joined KPMG in 2012, where he was Assistant Manager Quantitative Finance Group for global investment banks and insurance companies. Robert Salzmann holds a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETHZ) and a doctorate from the RiskLab Switzerland in ETHZ’s mathematics department. He is an SAA-accredited actuary and a Certified Extreme Event Modeler™ at the AIR Institute.

Nicolas Schmidhauser joined SI Re in 2009 as Underwriting Manager for Spain, Italy, Switzerland and Portugal. His career in reinsurance stretches back to 1990 and he has many years of experience in underwriting, having worked at Winterthur Re (now part of PartnerRe), Guardian Re (now part of TransRe) and AIG Europe. Nicolas Schmidhauser joined Zurich Re (subsequently Converium/SCOR) initially as Senior Underwriter in 1996 and, from 2001, Senior Client Relationship Manager with responsibility for Spain, Switzerland and France. He has an Executive MBA from IDE-CESEM Business School, Madrid.

Karine Wild joined SI Re in 2011 as Underwriting Manager for the French, Belgian and Luxembourg markets. She has extensive reinsurance underwriting experience. Karine Wild started her career at the French branch of Nordisk Re in 1991. In 2000, she joined the client management team at Swiss Re France. In 2008, she moved to Scor to work as a Senior Property and Liability Underwriter for French clients, specialising in professional indemnity. Karine Wild holds a degree in modern languages and jurisprudence from University Sorbonne, Paris and a Master's 2 degree in insurance law from University Assas, Paris.
UNDERWRITING MANAGER Germany, Northern Europe, Baltics
Since May 2012, Jürgen Hildebrand has added his expertise to the SI Re team as Underwriting Manager for Germany, Northern Europe, the Baltics and the Netherlands. He began his career in 1999 at the Canadian direct insurer Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) in Vancouver as a corporate policy and business strategy analyst. He moved into reinsurance in 2002 when he joined Converium (subsequently Scor) in Cologne in 2002 as Direct Assistant to the CEO. Subsequently, he joined the Underwriting Unit for the Scandinavian and Baltic markets. From 2010, Jürgen Hildebrand worked for New Re as a Senior Underwriter for the German, Austrian and Turkish markets. Jürgen Hildebrand holds an MBA from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada.

In February 2019, Ralph Kleiner joined SI Re as Underwriting Manager for Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Romania and Portugal. He began his insurance/reinsurance career in 1989 and accumulated extensive international experience in a number of underwriting roles at Swiss Re, including Senior Casualty Underwriter for Fortune 500 clients in the US, Canada, Australia, Germany, Switzerland and at Zurich Insurance, where his last position was Head of Underwriting Liability/Motor in the business unit Global Corporate Switzerland. From 2011, he was Senior Casualty Treaty Underwriter at Aspen Re with responsibility for the reinsurance markets in Scandinavia, the Baltic markets, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Greece and Cyprus plus major liability clients in Germany.
